A coffee exporter’s license is an official authorization to export coffee. In order to export coffee from Burundi, one must obtain a coffee exporter’s license, which is issued by the ‘‘Office pour le Développement du Café du Burundi (ODECA)’’. This license is valid for one year and is renewable upon request.
Any export of goods, with the exception of commercial samples, goods not intended for sale and luggage and items used as part of relocation (moving) must be subject to an Export Declaration (DE) validated with the Bank of the Republic of Burundi (BRB) for coffee, tea and minerals and with a commercial bank for other products before the shipment of the goods.
